Letter In Response To A Friend
Thanks again. I was taking a more quantum view of that crimson sky and what makes it appear as such.
I feel that we do, indeed, create our own reality. A reality which is seen through the lens ground out of our previous experiences, known as our personal world view. Simple as this sounds, I can't help but notice how often it escapes the notice of most people. They do not understand that their focus, ( through their lens of unique experiences ) their world view, is unique to them. Try as they may, they are unable to duplicate what others think or believe ..... they can't see it within the same frame of reference. If they have never tasted a lemon, then all of the teaching in the world will not give them the taste of a lemon. But, by merely taking a bite of lemon and having that personal experience, they understand. It is experiential.
We all too often fail to recognize "reality" from the perspective of what makes up that perceived reality via the lens, etc.
One is left with the question then: " Is all of one's reality a matter of perception "? Not the old adage that perception is reality,
dressed in new clothes. This goes deeper into what even contributes to the perception.
Don't you find it interesting, Xxxxxxxx, that most people who present a rock-solid handle on their reality and are trying to sell us on it, have no idea how that became their world view; nor, do they know why? Very, very seldom do you find that they arrived at their world view via experience alone. Start asking them how they " know " what they are saying to be true and they will invariably reference something they heard, read, or were told .... not what they have experienced for themselves.
All too often we are trying to live up to the myth.
Enough for now. I just find these questions fascinating and too interesting to ignore.
Wishing you and yours the very best for the coming New Year,
Phil
