I took this picture yesterday, outside the kitchen window. She and her mate have been feeding two young ones after a catastrophe. Her nest was knocked to the ground by a predator of some sort and the two young ones were on the ground, beside the nest.
I relocated the nest to a fork in the tree and returned the little ones to their home. After some serious scolding of me, and a few dive-bomb runs, she began to gather food for them again. All seem to be doing fine this morning. Since they made it through the night they will probably be just fine.
Nothing like a Mama to get us through the hard times!
