Sauntering in March
March 3, 2008 Fern Creek, Kentucky
During my saunter today I noticed the signs of the coming Spring.
Two days ago, I heard the first of the frog's song of glory to come.
Green shoots of the Daffodils near the creek, up some four inches now.
Clear water in rocky streams and remnants of week-old snow; twig strewn banks.
Tips of the Fir trees with nubs of growth bask in warmer weather.
A faint trace of yellow in the Forsythia bushes is seen from a distance.
A windy day with hard rains to come tonight and clouds gather to announce it.
Peace, wonder and precious time to watch and ponder.
