Seeds On The Wind
A hard rain yesterday, lasting nearly all day and night, prepared the soil for Nature's winter plantings. Small openings and earthen furrows form.
Following the rain, a strong wind; this loosens waiting seeds from their fall-dried pods and spreads them onto the moist, fertile soil.
Further winds and rains will bury the seeds, cover them with thatch and humus, and then leave them to their sleep in preparation for their emergence in spring.
All in their time, with no touch of the hand of man, assisted only by the elements that form to bring forth a new phase of life; to begin the cycle in season.
