Ajahn Jitindriya Bio (c) Bodhikusuma Meditation Centre
Ajahn Jitindriya is a ( former ) Theravadan Nun from the Amaravati Monastery in England - a community in the lineage of Ajahn Chah & Ajahn Sumedho. She was born in Sydney, Australia in 1963. She studied the Visual Arts at college and later travelled through Southeast Asia, India & Europe.
Whilst living in England in 1987, she became seriously interested in meditation & the teachings of the Buddha. She joined the Amaravati Community, taking novice ordination in 1988 and higher ordination in 1990. Since then, she has lived & practised in various communities of this order- spending time in England, Australia & the USA.
